A different league
Got my legs ripped off by John Tanner and Scott Thwaites last night. My 2nd cat status has earned me the joyous right to race with professional 1st cats. I felt like I was gonna go blind trying to keep up with them. A sorry ending, my first DNF of the year....

All new mileage pb.
Completed 153 miles as part of the Dulwich Dynamo last night. Uncharted territory as far as distance is concerened but an excellent event made it strangely pleasant. Baggy shorts over lycra kept it real around the Jey Boy massive.

Turn it up to 12
That descent off Honister was utterly savage, 12 on the gnarly-ometer, made the descent back into Borrowdale seem like childsplay. Hardcore riding, made me look like the raging Jey Boy I am! Good riding by all, good to be out on full suss again. x

Had a great time in the lakes despite the insanity of the 'BB' on the 1st day and the limitations of one rusty rider riding a brand new jey XC bike with slicks and... ahhh my excuses are extensive. I dont care, I made it back in one piece and I still have me gloves and jacket... just! Cheers LR and HG for organising a top weekend.

Weekend wetness
Alll survived lakes Fany weekend, even Quad! Raged, very slowly, on Saturday up and down the "Borrowdale Bastard". Gnarly trails galore. Sunday super wet shredding at Whinlatter. All super stoked etc. Cheers to all the boys for making it!

Kirroughtree Khaos
Managed 7 laps of a superb course at 10 @ Kirroughtree on Saturday for 16th solo place. Loads of mud, wet rock, gnarly slidy roots meant it was a little different to a usual ride there. No heatwave up here. Props to Auld Yin - his trio were on the podium.

New bike - first ride
Built up the new steed on Saturday, first ride out (with my Dad on his 13 year old Cannondale!!) on Sunday. New bike is sweet, handles nicely, very pleased so far. Need to try it on some steep rocky shizzle now - Helvellyn ahoy!!!

New Boot 3 legged review
Look at this. Obviously it's no Fuel but it can't be any worse than some of the other heavy steeds being ridden around by Fany's, Blue and Flux spring to mind. You need to be roided up to heave them bad boys up the hill.

Did my first road race since April last night, OUCH, it hurt. But I finished, maybe top 20, on a tough lumpy course near Halifax. Hope to get race fit to bag a few results before the end of the season...

A & E Tour
Yes, unfortunately my tour of the UK's A&E dept continues. I spent Yesterday at Airedale A&E before being transferred to Blackburn where I had my face stiched up. The incident happened whilst riding in the Grassington marathon. I had a rock vs face incident and the rock was a clear winner.

Helvellyn recce ride done...
Jimbo and me done a recce of the July 17 ride today. Shit loads of climbing. Tech gnar descent. 85% rideable at least (you are going up a mountain, you've got to expect it). Those attending BE PREPARED. And no bloody moaning, you knew what you were signing up for!

Rapha Kid - Official Report
Went out with Team Rapha on Weds night. 5 wallies in blcak rapha tops and me in a hi viz orange gilet. Quite a hot pace and nice countryside, but lethal traffic getting out of North London took the edge of the fun. Will stick to interval around Regents Park in future ! McD - solve your dilemma and give me your rear mech.
