White Calves??!?!?!? WHERE??
They were out, today, did you see them?!? Spotted powering EL Hog Pig on his lunchtime ride from Barnsley to Penistone and back: exposed calves, Spring is on the way.

Winter>Spring
As Winter makes way for Spring so my winter gloves were swapped for lightweight full-finger gloves and my rubber-welly overshoes were replaced with blightweight overshoes on my commute in this morning. Next you will start to glimpse white calves and before we know it we'll be complaining we're too hot and getting sunburnt.

Maiden XTC
Rode my new Giant XTC1 today, what a flying machine! Is more like a road bike than an MTB: stiff and very fast. Perfect machine for OSMM if you ask me.

Yes please. Now, on cycle related stuff, the new steed is out on the roads. And its staying on the roads... so if you are reading this Mr Dodgy-Tache-white-van-driver man who beeped me last night, shouting at me that I should be on the gravel cycle path (parallel to the road). Hear this, My bike is worth more than your van. It aint going on no gravel cycle path, so ufck off punk!

Oooops!
Couple more beers than was strictly necessary led to the purchase of an On One 456 Summer Season frame on Friday night. Should build up into a nice and lairy chuckable bike to complement the teutonic efficiency of Project Jey.

...we sprunt.
...being the past imperfect participle of 'sprint'. Anyway my new commute route continues to thrill. 5.5 rolling miles from Bermondsey to Knightsbridge with a 20 minute layup waiting for the lights at Hyde Park Corner. Then - get this - HOME AGAIN IN THE EVENING!!! Who's racking up ???

Did my new commute yesterday, 23 rolling miles from Leeds to Barnsley, then home again in the evening. 1hr 18mins each way, racking those miles up.

Smile, you're going too slow!
Liking these new speed warning thingies with the green smiley face (too slow) and the red frowny face (too fast). Unfortunately for me its been all smiles... Ho hum. I sprint, you sprint, we sprant.

Maximum enjoyment
Had a great weekend in the borders even if I did only ride one day due to having the knees of an eighty year old. This is the year I give myself a kick and am planning to get out on every monthly ride. Only one thing will stop me and thats the sight of Bears "man" stockings again. Just wrong I say. WRONG

Shortly after this pic...
to the left was taken, we all literally hung on for dear life and ripped it down the totally snow covered descent. The most fun I've had on the old steed for a long time. Weather & trails this wknd were all superb, north shore action followed by frozen single track and all in clear crisp blue winter skies. Plus beer, food, bed for the night and brekkie for £53?!?!? The Grapes in Newcastleton comes Fanylion recommended.

Happy Birthdays...
Do not constitute news Mr Potts you self congratulatory Apeth! And the MBR subscription thing squeezes by the news quality control and standards panel(me) by a whisker. Anyroad, today I am wearing odd socks, after a mix-up in the laundry room.

It was a grueling 3 miler that was cut short because of my wheezing, panting and general all over body pain caused by some virus or another. Happy Valentines x

Repeat the chewing process...
Dont worry, nothing to do with Mastiles! No, on Sunday morning, with a hangover 5hrs on the wrong side of 7pints, I went out with Jersey's only Elite rider and his crew. I was promptly chewed up and spat out. This morning, fresh as a button, I went out with my usual crew and chewed 'em up and spat 'em out. Thats mastication edification for you folks.

Lance v Fanylion
My good buddy Lance has just announced he's riding the Cape Argus in South Africa this year. I've been on at him for a while to take on a mighty Fany (Cheryl Crowe aside). Does that make me the first Fany to take him on in a race?? Bring it on Armstrong you big girl's blouse you!
