Showbiz crashes big

I was on a pretty steep single track through woods (I done lots) full pelt it could get into downhiller type thing. Lots of sudden massive ruts / gullies, drops offs etc.

Not best on a hardtail I think. Anyway, as you know, I have two choices: either keep good squeeze on brakes and go down slowish - trouble is if you don't get a good line and hit a rut you have no momentum to get over it. Also, balance becomes tricky and increase chance of slow stack.

Other way is to go quick, ride it out and hope you get right lines.

Immediately after the crash

I tried latter, but maybe with not enough gusto / skill. Went piling down, lined up for big rut, too late to escape, bang into it, 80mm travel says see ya, I go straight over the bars, slamming face into something (at least that's what I think happened). Get back on for remaining down hill road and 4 mile tow path ride home. Riding back very weird deja vous things going on where I thought I'd dreamt of big stack and done bloody faced home ride before - very odd. Didn't realise my specs had gone til I'd been home for an hour.

Also crack clean through front grid of helmet where head hit sticking up ground. Think need to get back out on course asap (slowly) to keep my head I reckon.

After getting cleaned up

Anyway, all grist to the full sus mill argument with Mrs Showbiz.

Fany fact

I don't care if it's raining, snowing or hailing... it's Sunday and on Sunday we go biking.
